I did it! I conquered the Couch to 5k!!!
Week 9 is the final week of the Couch to 5k program with the NHS. This week’s workout begins with a brisk 5-minute walk, then 30 minutes of running. I would be lying if I said it was easy. Running for 30 minutes continuously feels like a total mental hurtle more than a physical hurtle. I knew that my body would be able to complete the program, but my mind was having trouble focusing. During each of the runs, I took a similar route, but wandered down a few new streets to explore the neighborhood a little more. It helped a lot and I look forward to adding on mileage to the mix as I begin to step up my training.
When I look over the past 9 weeks, I can’t help but be proud of how far I’ve come. I always have good intentions when it comes to things like this, but somehow I always seem to falter. And this time I didn’t! I know I’m giving myself mad props, but I really can’t help it! 🙂
I also want to take a moment to thank everyone that has supported me along the way. I could not have done this without you. Your likes, emails, and comments have helped me tremendously! Thank you!
I hope you have enjoyed reading about my journey as much as I have enjoyed writing about it. I plan to continue to write about my upcoming training and races, so it’s not over yet! With my first race coming up on Saturday, I’m sure I’ll have loads to share.
