A Wee Trip to Edinburgh

During L’s visit in March, we spent the second half of the week in the capital city of Edinburgh in Scotland. We started the day taking our first flight on a discount airline, Easy Jet. We’ve heard lots of mixed feelings about Easy Jet, but we had a great experience and in about an hour we had landed! IMG_4642

After checking into the hotel, we spent the afternoon walking around and explored the city.

L’s cousin went to Uni in Edinburgh and recommended a local pub for us to check out – The Wally Dug! It was a great spot and perfect for a cheeky pint!

After grabbing a bite to eat, we went on a Ghosts and Ghouls tour and even saw the haunted Blair Street Underground Vaults! I really love these kinds of things, but I was get pretty freaked out! This tour was no exception. I didn’t experience anything while we were in the vaults, but it did feel really creepy down there. I’m glad we did it, but I’ll never go back!

The next morning, we had an early start to make sure we were able to see everything! We started off at the Castle. It was a cold, blistery day, but we prevailed and stopped for a spot of tea to warm up! There was a lot to see, which even included a wedding!

After seeing the Castle we headed next door to The Scotch Whiskey Experience! This was one of our favorite things by far! We heard how it was made, tasted two different types, and then ended the tour seeing the largest collection of Scotch Whiskey’s in the world! It was an incredible experience and I’m so glad we decided to do it!

We are so thankful to have experienced Edinburgh with Laurel and we are so lucky that she came to visit us. Lot of love L’s and miss you already!!
