At the beginning of this year, I shared with you three goals I set for myself for 2014 – reach my weight goal, to teach Spinning in London and gain enough experience to teach when we return to the States, and finally to run a half marathon. For the past six months, I have been working on these goals and felt it was time to post an update.
- Reach my goal weight.
Over the past six months, I have been lost a few pounds, but over the last few weeks, it seems I have plateaued. It’s been very frustrating, but I’m hoping that my training for my next race will help me to reach my goal!
- To teach Spinning in London and gain enough experience to teach when we return to the States.
I am happy to report that I did send all of my materials to studios in London, but it only resulted in one audition. I followed up several times, but never heard anything. It was so much fun to be on the bike and leading a group of very supportive people in a short audition! Since I’ll only be in London for a few more months, I’m not sure the first part of this goal will be achieved. At this time, I think it’s best to update this goal:
- To teach spinning when we return to the States.
I am hoping through my network in Boston, that I will be able to find a place to sub and then eventually move to teaching my own class. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and trying to be as optimistic as possible!!
- To run a half-marathon.
Of all my goals, this is the one I am most proud of my progress. Since January, I have completed the Couch to 5k and run my first 5k! In the next few weeks, I will start training for my next race, a 10k at the end of July. I also signed up for a 10-miler at Disney World in October, and finally my half-marathon in Boston in November. I have enjoyed running a lot, and am looking forward to a new race to train for.
Thanks so much for reading my update and I look forward to sharing more soon!
